Easter is not only enjoying coming spring with new leaves in trees, fresh growing grass or chicken jumping out with hens and the crow. Easter is not bunnies and rabbits or sweets, chocolate or even plain Easter meal without a meaning. What does Easter mean to you?
In the Bible is told what Easter meant in the Old Testament, how Israelites were set free from the bondage of Egypt and lead to the Promised Land by Moses and Aron, how they received the Ten Commandments by God in the Wilderness of Sinai and how God provided to them all they needed for fourty years. The Old Testament describes how God lived with His people, though they were many times rebellious and received punishments from God. Still even today God has everlasting love towards His creation and wants to save it and people from eternal condemnation and desctruction. He wants to give the kingdom of His Son to those who receive his Son Jesus, Hebrew name is Jeshua, as their Lord and Redeemer of sin.
Later God sent His Son Jeshua on the Earth, but His own did not recognize Him as Messiah. Instead Jeshua was rejected and underestimated as the Messenger of God. Finally He was crucified on the cross as a rebellious person of Jewish customs and laws taught by pharisees. But after Jewish Easter Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion and death. The tomb is still empty!
Jesus is soon coming back as King in His glory and then starts the millenium of Peace on the Earth before eternity in Heaven. The heavenly Jerusalem will come to people too and all of His saints to rule.
Here are links to small Christian Children's club series using old fashioned flannell images and telling the real Easter story of the final days of Jesus on the Earth:
1. Jesus rides to Jerusalem on a donkey
2. The Last Supper of Jesus with His disciples
3. Jesus is captured and tested
4. Jesus is mocked and nailed on the cross
5. Jesus is buried and raises from the dead
You can color this image if you print it on a paper of Jesus carrying the cross:

I wish peaceful and lovely Easter to You all readers!
Greetings from East Finland: sister S.M.T. 30.3.2024
